Posting the video of the finale here, still gives me shivers watching it, I can't believe I was actually there. Pink Floyd has been my favorite band for a long time and this was truly a dream come true.  I have talked about wanting to see this concert since I was a teenager, almost 15 years I had been waiting for that night.

Roger Waters 10/29/10 "Tear down The Wall!"

OK, so last Friday (I know a bit late I was watching the video and decided to post) I went and saw  "The Wall" LIVE!!!  It was the best damn show I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of shows.  I have been to see a lot of bands, back in the '90s I was always going to shows. I got to meet and get autographs from Primus, Limp Bizkit and a ton of other bands.  Still, NOTHING compares to this show.

So yeah, first thing that happens is Roger fucking Waters walks out and waves at everybody, the man is a legend and just to have him wave in my general direction is a fucking honor. Then BAM! pyrotechnics are going off the music smacks you in the face, anyone who has heard The Wall knows how powerful of an opening it has.  Then right on cue here comes the airplane over the audience and CRASH!!!! it EXPLODES INTO FLAME as it crashes into the wall. !!!! I could feel the heat from the flames! A few songs later and we're into "Another Brick in the Wall" and on the right hand of the stage is a HUGE marionette of the school teacher from the wall moving up and down with the music.

The entire time the show is going on, the huge wall on stage is slowly being constructed and on this wall is being projected all kinds of animations and behind this is another round screen at the back of the stage and a little higher than the wall.  First of all, they set that projector up perfectly, everything was like it was in high-def and man if only you could have seen what was going on.  Then during "Mother" which is a pretty big point in the story, he stopped to tell us how he is happy to be back doing The Wall and everything. Then he proceeded to play a duet with a video of him playing Mother from the original Wall tour.  It was awesome to not only hear the song live but, to also get to see an unreleased video of the original Wall tour.

Of course, they showed the flower animation and a few others.  A little bit later it was intermission time, or we can call it what it really was, a piss and smoke break.

Once settled back into our seats we waited for the show to continue, with no warning, the lights go down and "Hey You" starts being played as a video of WW2 bombers is projected onto the wall.  Then for  Nobody Home a part of the wall folds out and there is the chair, lamp and TV from the movie. Roger is sitting in the chair singing the song and he fucking kicked ass.  Comfortably Numb comes up and the first thing is there is a puppet on top of the wall just sitting there, then it just falls face first onto the ground.  Roger is in front of the wall in his get up and during the chorus the person WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN DAVID FUCKING GILMOUR BUT was just some dude is standing on top of the wall doing the chorus. I have to say he did a damn fine job and I have to say I didn't even really care that it wasn't David Gilmour. Would have been cooler if it was, though.

Then for the second round of In the Flesh, everyone in the audience is participating, Roger says "Get him up against the wall" and EVERYONE IN THE PLACE shouts "AGAINST THE WALL" it goes like this.

Roger: "There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me. Get him up against the wall."
Audience: "AGAINST THE WALL!"

Then of course everyone was yelling "RUN RUN RUN RUN" during Run Like Hell.  The next song is  Waiting for the Worms and in the intro to this song everyone is chanting "HAMMER HAMMER HAMMER" (the two hammers being a prominent symbol used in the wall) actually I think during that whole song people were chanting HAMMER over and over again it was so fucking great.

Then came The Trial, the finale to the show, wow is all I can say. They went all out on this part. There were puppets, the animation in the movie is being shown on the wall during the song then comes the best part of the night in my opinion.

Roger yells, "I sentence you to be exposed before your peers! !!"  that's when the place goes crazy. Everyone is standing up, pumping their fists in the air and not just shouting or chanting, we are all SCREAMING as loud as we can "TEAR DOWN THE WALL! TEAR DOWN THE WALL!".  You can see everyone in the audience just so into the show you almost think we are really a mob wanting justice.  People's foreheads are wrinkled veins popping out of peoples necks as they scream "TEAR DOWN THE WALL".  After almost a minute of this The Wall in all it's glory comes tumbling down, the roar of the crowd as they cheer is deafening.  People in the front row are being buried by cardboard bricks (wish I would have been close enough to steal one, they were quick on cleaning up) people are jumping up and down still shouting and cheering.

Then the place calms down again, and the entire production comes up on stage, outside the wall, to sing... Outside the Wall.  You can see people, couples with their arms around each other swaying back and forth, people still pumped from the last song, everyone is singing along.

"All alone, or in two's,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall."

The show is over, people are shouting "THANK YOU ROGER" we all slowly make our way towards the doors back to our cars, in the present time.  We honk at each other and give shouts of "WOOOOO" every single person who saw that show that night knows they are now part of an exclusive club.  Not many people can say they've seen The Wall live.... well now I can.  I never thought I would ever get to see it considering the problems the members of Pink Floyd have and the fact it's been 30 years since the release of the album.  Well I got to see it, and I have the hoodie to prove I was there. The pictures, the video and of course the great experience I will never forget.

EDIT: Just download the pictues I didn't resize them so....

OK, didn't have the greatest seat in the house but, the pictures look worse than it really was. First one is at the beginning of the concert, the second is during intermission. They were taken with my phone so they aren't the best but you get an idea of what the wall looked like. I would have gotten some during the show but you would have just seen a bunch of black with a few spots of color here and there. My phone didn't pick up enough light to see the animations.

The third pic is a panorama of the venue.  I have some videos I am going to go through and maybe make a "highlights" clip to post up. I don't care if you guys are interested or not, this is for me lol. IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!

I looked around the webs and found some professional photos:

This page has some of the best pictures plus they have video of the biggest points in the night, like the plane crash and the finale. I am sad because obviously had I shown up earlier I COULD HAVE FUCKING MET ROGER WATERS... I am so pissed.
