On a PC, you slide off part of the case and you have access to everything. I'm sure it isn't that simple on a Mac.


How can they keep their value longer than a PC? They don't cost less in the long run. I've had a PC for 8+ years that I only ever upgraded once, and that was a $75 AGP video card. I have even older ones that I still use occasionally. I have working parts from before I was born. I wouldn't know about the cost of repairs for PCs or Macs, I've never had to get one. And the Virus thing is not a valid argument. If you have ANY idea what you're doing at all on a PC, you will not get any viruses unless someone deliberately hops on your computer and plants one. They aren't made as often for Macs for a reason, most people use PCs.


That's over-complicating things, why would you blow away as much as 3 times the amount of money you might spend on a PC, on a Mac, and then just run Windows on it? If you run Windows on a PC, you can run Windows apps, you don't even need a VM.


The dock is nice, but I have a dock on my PC that has a bunch of themes and is very customizable. From what I've seen, Macs are not more reliable. You do not need to buy a new PC every 3-5 years. Mac has nifty programs, but the PC has better ones... for everything.

Alright disturbed. 1. your anology dealing ith your own personal computer, that is you, you know what your doing with your computer, the average user doesn't so they aren't going to "waste" time upgrading it, its good that you had you computer for 8+ years, but truly what are the specs? Do you think it can tun some of the newest programs for windows? can it really run vista or 7? oh wait vista? Thats the Crap os.

2. Opening up a tower mac (not the all in ones) is just as simple as a pc, only difference is that the wires are cleaner as in there not all over the place or tied down like in pcs.

3. Macs keep there value longer because there hardware has no need to change, there hardware for laptops are lighter than pcs, and you know its a fact expeciall if you bring up a mac book, or a pro.

4. You failed to bring up your argument about mac being able to run windows xp and 7 LEGALLY, so therefore A mac is open torwards WINDOW AND MAC APPLICATION so therfore that is one MAJOR advatange over the pc.

5 You can use Kalyway or another mac for pc but the driver support isn't really that great and dont get started on updates! oh and one more thing...

6. There is usually only one Kind of mac out at a time which means way better driver support also there customer service is alot better

The Macs at your school more than likely are super old we still have G3s but they come with a 2.2 and 4gb of RAM.

ours are about 3 years old. Macbooks. Wost computer I ever used...

3 yueafrs would be an ibook g4, those are pretty face, they probably need a defrag.

Macbooks are awesome maybe the one you got are messed up idk but I can pretty much fix a lot of Mac problems because I was going to be a AMCT once upon a time. But I have never had a problem out of a Macbook EVER and our Macbooks are 3 years old also there the first ones that came out.
