Ipod Touch Recovery mode

My ipod touch is stuck in recovery mode and the only thing that will recognize it is iTunes. Any suggestions on how I can get it out of recovery mode?

It turns on while plugged in then turns right back off

When it is plugged in, go to itunes and click Restore

I called apple and they said the battery was bad so I'm taking it back.
