You're a little mistaken. They are labeling it as an i7. You pulled an old article. Looks like it's gonna be a nice processor though.

Well the new i7 that just came out has 6 cores, so that's the top of the line i7, so the i9s will be 6 cores and up

Well the rankings go like this, i3s are low to medium dual cores, i5s are high dual cores to low quad cores, i7s are high end quad cores to low end six cores and i9s will be high end six cores to low end octo cores
