I spent a few minutes trying to figure out some benefits of having a see-through screen.

I came up with...
1. You can see your legs.

Cons:
You can see through your monitor.
I'd imagine it's pretty thin, so it'll probably break pretty easily.
Why would you want to see through your monitor?
It'll probably be expensive.
Image quality will probably be terrible.
You can... see through... your... screen...?

I don't get it. Why?

it would be good for like a windshield HUD on cars, but other than that, it is pointless.

That's be pretty cool to have a HUD on your windshield while  you were driving! Might be a little unsafe though.

Exactly HUD would be helpful if they could integrate it with backup cameras blind spots speedometers that would be awesome
